ICYMI: A Collection Of Arizona 'Supermoon' Photos

Did you catch this week's " supermoon?" If you didn't, don't worry — Arizona Twitter users have you covered.

Check out a collection of photos (and a couple videos) shot from all over Arizona.

There are usually several supermoons each year, but this one was brighter than usual. That's because the moon made its closest approach to Earth since 1948 — and it won't be this close again until 2034.

This was the second of three supermoons in a row. The last one of 2016 is Dec. 14.

Melissa grew up in Tucson, Arizona, where she fell in love with the ecology and geology of the Sonoran desert. She has a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Arizona and an M.FA. in Creative Writing and Environment from Iowa State University.
