Arizona's Unemployment Rate At Lowest Since 2008

New figures from the Office of Economic Opportunity put Arizona’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for October at 5.2 percent. That's as low as it's been since spring 2008.

The state has also added more than 50,000 jobs in the past year.

“One of the interesting factors we're seeing is a transformation of the retail sector where e-commerce is becoming a more dominant player. And with that, jobs are changing from sector to sector. We did see some gains in retail trade, but not the gains that we historically see," said Doug Walls with the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity.

In October, the jobless rate in Maricopa County is the lowest in the state at 4.4 percent.
