Sunshine and short winters are not the only things Arizona and Florida have in common. Citrus is a foundational industry in both states and an acquisition announced Monday is bringing the two locations closer.
Co-located in Miami and Tempe, Sun Orchard produces citrus juices and beverages for the food-services industry.
Sun Orchard is now buying juicing equipment and rights to several juices made from Florida-based Blue Lake Citrus Products.
Sun Orchard’s CEO said this acquisition is part of a long-term plan to grow the company nationwide.
Blue Lake’s juices are already sold in grocery stores in several states under the Noble juice brand name, and gives Sun Orchard a retail presence.
