Arizona’s Alzheimer’s Task Force was established almost two years ago.
Now, State Representative Heather Carter is leading a call to action to fight the disease. She says the task force is ready to move from the planning phase to the implementation phase in confronting the challenges of Alzheimer’s.
“We want to work with partners and stakeholders to secure resources, to support the sustainability, of a dementia capable system in Arizona,” Carter said.
One of the recommendations includes proposed tax credits for caregivers tending to Alzheimer’s patients.
The task force, part of Gov. Ducey’s State Plan on Aging, was established to address the growing human and financial cost of dementia in Arizona.
