Expanded commercial air service has been cleared for take off this week at the Prescott Municipal Airport.
Starting Dec. 17, Great Lakes Airlines will make four round trip flights a day to Los Angeles. Great Lakes will also offer flights to Denver twice a week.
The airline wants to test the regional market, and there is no public money on the line if it doesn’t work out, said John Cox, director of the Prescott Airport.
“If the citizens are not interested in having upgraded air service at Prescott, then they can vote basically with their checkbooks,” Cox said.
