The future of the Affordable Care Act has become one of the biggest questions in Washington and around the country.

Republicans in Congress have been talking about “repeal and replace,” as has President-elect Donald Trump, but there aren’t a ton of details about what would replace the ACA after a repeal.

One of the areas that’d be affected is Medicaid expansion — Arizona is one of the several states that expanded the health-insurance program for the poor under the ACA.

Robin Rudowitz studies this kind of thing. She’s an associate director for the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured. Rudowitz talks about what the discussion is right now as far as Medicaid expansion programs as they relate to the future of the ACA.
