Tucson Voters to Decide Sales-Tax Increase

Tucson voters this spring will be asked to increase their taxes to pay for public safety and roads.

The City Council last night unanimously approved sending that question to the ballot in a May special election. The half-cent sales-tax increase would bring in an estimated $50 million a year for the five years it would be in effect.

With me to talk about this is City Councilman Steve Kozachik. Kozachik answers why Tucson needs this extra money.
