Phoenix Company Acquires Canadian Virtual Reality Attraction

Phoenix-based Viad Corporation announced it has acquired "FlyOver Canada," a virtual flight ride attraction, as an expansion of its travel and recreation segment, one of its two business lines.

According to Viad’s announcement, TripAdvisor rates the virtual experience as the number one attraction in Vancouver.

Viad expects 2016 revenues to reach $11 million.

Technology analysts at DigiCapital forecast the virtual and augmented reality industry to hit $120 billion in revenues by 2020.

Viad Corp. operates two business lines: an event planning group and a travel and tourism group.
