New numbers from the U.S. Census Bureau show that between 2014 and 2015, more American counties saw an increase in the median household income than a decrease.
But, when the beginning of that time frame was moved back, to 2007, more counties saw a decrease than an increase.
Those trends generally hold true for Arizona, with eleven of the state’s 15 counties seeing an increase in median household income between 2014 and 2015, and 12 counties seeing a decrease in the wider time frame.
With me to explain all of this is Economist Jim Rounds of Rounds Consulting. Rounds discusses how much of the drop between 2007 and 2015 is due to the Great Recession, and the state’s struggles to get out of that.
