Jurors To Decide Whether Church Killer Will Be Executed Or Spend Life In Prison

In Charleston, S.C., a federal judge has ruled that 22-year old Dylann Roof is competent to stand trial. Roof is the self-described White supremacist who was convicted of killing nine people in a racially-motivated Charleston church shooting in 2015.

The same jurors who found him guilty of murder will decide whether he should be executed or spend the rest of his life in prison. That part of the proceedings begins on Wednesday.

We spoke with Alexandra Olgin of South Carolina Public Radio, who has been covering the Roof trial.
