How Much Potential Is There For Arizona To Produce Geothermal Energy?

Some state leaders have talked about making Arizona the solar-energy capital of the world, and parts of the state have been embracing wind energy, as well.

But Mike Conway’s excited about the potential for another kind of renewable energy – geothermal. That’s energy created by heat inside the earth, often in areas around volcanoes. 

Conway is chief of the Geologic Extension Service of the AZ Geological Survey, and he talks about how much potential there is in Arizona for producing and using geothermal energy.
