The Arizona Corporation Commission chose their new chairman Wednesday. Tom Forese will head the agency, taking over for Doug Little.
Forese was elected after being nominated by Andy Tobin.
But one commissioner refused to support Forese’s nomination. After the swearing-in, Bob Burns said Tobin and Forese improperly tried to fire a commission employee.
"I think it set a ripple through this commission," Burns said. "It injured the morale of the whole place."
For his part, Forese said that wasn't exactly what happened, but would not get into specifics. He also said he’s not oblivious to the controversies surrounding the commission, and is promising reforms.
