Russian attempts to disrupt November’s election have brought cyber-hacking into the spotlight. But it’s not new for Arizona election officials.
Last June, the FBI informed them that Russian hackers had attempted to steal voter information. That led Secretary of State Michele Reagan to shut down the voter-registration system here for a week.
And now the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office is using a White Hat hacker team to test its own systems.
We spoke with County Recorder Adrian Fontes about his goals for the testing.
