The Phoenix City Council approved extending the weekend hours of local bus and dial-a-ride services.
The idea is to match light rail hours every day of the week.
Once the change goes into effect in April, Friday and Saturday hours will extend until 2 a.m. and Sunday nights until 11 p.m.
The extended hours also means the addition of new drivers, cleaners, mechanics and other jobs.
This latest step is part of the city’s voter approved transportation plan.
