There are changes coming for valley commuters and residents living along the Interstate 10 and 17 corridor. The Maricopa Association of Governments needs the public's final input on improvements.
In a two year study looking at ways to improve the interstates, transportation planners said residents would prefer safer routes for crossing the freeways, whether that’s by bike, sidewalks, or wider lanes for driving.
For those traveling on the interstates, transportation director Eric Anderson said commuters want earlier warnings about traffic snarls.
“So, one of the things we’re looking at is putting some of these message signs before you get on the freeway or choose your route," Anderson said.
Before the final proposal is written, Anderson said planners would like commuter input.
There are public meetings Jan. 24-31 or you can leave feedback at the spine.azmag.gov.
