Just before the new year, Gov. Doug Ducey welcomed a fleet of autonomous cars belonging to Uber that were moving here from California.
The startup decided to test its vehicles in Arizona because of a regulatory dispute with our neighbors to the west. That came about a week after the governor took a ride in one of Google’s self-driving cars.
And as firms continue to test their autonomous vehicles in the state, policymakers are working to come up with rules of the road for them.
