Cactus League Anticipates High Number Of Visitors This Year

We’re just a little more than a month away from the start of Spring Training here in the Valley and expectations are already high.

With the hype of the Chicago Cubs off their first World Series win in over 100 years, the team, who plays at Sloan Park in Mesa, is expected to be the hottest ticket.

Cactus League President Jeff Minor said the hype of the Cubs could help increase attendance for the other 14 teams that play in Arizona.

“I would think across the Cactus League for all away games, that you’re going to see a spike in attendance as well for those,” he said.

Minor said he’s optimistic the league can attain the 2 million attendance mark this year.

Spring Training officially kicks off Feb. 22.
