Free Program Helps Valley Residents With Their Taxes

Starting today, low- and moderate-income Valley residents can get free help with their income taxes.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, or VITA, program has been around for decades; last year, more than 260 volunteers helped prepare tax filings in the Phoenix area.

With me to talk about this are Bri Rodriguez, program coordinator for the Phoenix Earned Income Tax Credit Campaign and VITA Program, and Jamie Johnson, an accountant who’s volunteered with the program for several years.
