Republic Reporter Puts Ex-Phoenix City Manager's California Exit In Perspective

David Cavazos has agreed to leave his job as city manager in Santa Ana, Calif. An agreement with the City Council gives Cavazos more than $343,000 in severance in exchange for leaving the position.

You may remember Cavazos was Phoenix city manager until 2013 when he left for Santa Ana.

To put Cavazos’ departure from Santa Ana in perspective, we spoke with Dustin Gardiner. He covers Phoenix City Hall for The Arizona Republic and azcentral.com, and reported on Cavazos.
