With Heavy Rain In Southwest, Does This Mean Drought Is Almost Over?

Huge swaths of California have been hit by heavy rain this winter, especially over the past week or so.

On Sunday, parts of Southern California received up to 4 inches of rain with, often-dry, Los Angeles receiving record rainfall for that date.

Here in the Valley, we saw several days of steady rain and parts of Northern Arizona saw a few feet of snow.

This doesn’t mean that the years-long drought in California and the Southwest is over, but are we on the way?

To learn more, we spoke with Stanford University Earth System Science Professor Noah Diffenbaugh.
