The exhibit at ASU’s Hayden Library.

When you picture Dr. Frankenstein’s creation, alternatively known as the creature or the monster, you probably envision a tall green guy with screws in his neck and very uncomfortable shoes.

Mary Shelley’s creation has endured for nearly 200 years because its themes go a lot deeper than that.

As part of the preparation for the Frankenstein Bicentennial, ASU’s Center for Science and the Imagination is presenting a film series that will last through the end of 2017. It’s called Unexpected Frankensteins.

We spoke with the center’s Bob Beard.
