Movements to create social change have been going on in the U.S. since the nation got started.
Recently, we’ve seen Occupy Wall Street and protests related to the Dakota Access Pipeline. And early decisions by the Trump administration have stirred up hundreds of thousands of people to get involved and take part in many counter-efforts.
But how do we determine if a social movement has been impactful and whether it’s sustainable?
We asked Jackie Kennelly, an associate professor at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
