The Arizona Department of Transportation is considering the possibility of reversible lanes between Black Canyon City and Sunset Point along Interstate 17.
The idea is one of many being considered to move traffic while improving safety along that stretch of highway.
ADOT has also recommended widening I-17 to three lanes north of Anthem.
While no funding is available for a reversible-lane system or widening project, ADOT is looking at a public-private partnership that could move a large project along sooner.
