How Could Changes Or Repeal Of ACA Affect Arizona Economy?

One of the biggest questions facing the new Trump administration is what will happen with health care.

Candidate Trump pledged to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, and congressional Republicans have long held that as a top priority.

Health care is one of the bigger industries in Arizona and was one of the few that continued to add jobs through much of the Great Recession. So how might changes to, or the elimination of, the ACA affect the state and its economy.

To help answer that, I’m joined by Jonathan Ketcham. Ketcham is a health-care economist and professor in the W.P. Carey School of Business at ASU.

Repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act could also mean big changes for health-care providers.

For that perspective, I’m joined by Greg Vigdor, president and CEO of the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association.
