Arizona Senator Jeff Flake was among four U.S. Congressional members meeting with Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch.
The half hour, one-on-one meetings began at 10:30 Wednesday morning at Flakes D.C. office.
Flake holds a pivotal role in the vetting process as a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Both Flake and senior U.S. Senator John McCain gave Gorsuch’s nomination a nod when originally announced by President Donald Trump.
The two have received criticism from Democrats for refusing to consider Merrick Garland, then-President Barack Obama’s nomination.
If confirmed, Gorsuch would replace Justice Antonin Scalia who died nearly one year ago.
