Border Patrol agents in southern Arizona seized nearly 50 pounds of marijuana that was catapulted over the border by drug smugglers in Mexico.
"Agents noticed several people on the south side quickly retreating from the fence as they approache," said Daniel Hernandez, a border patrol agent. "When agents arrived at the scene they found a catapult system attached the south side of the border fence."
Hernandez said these devices are not much different than those used hundreds of years ago. He said this is not the first time smugglers have used a catapult to transport small quantities of narcotics to individuals waiting on the other side.
