Tucson police say that Mayor Jonathan Rothschild was not injured when he was carjacked at gunpoint on Saturday.
A male suspect pointed a handgun at the mayor and demanded his car keys as he walked to his car.
Tuscon Police say the same suspect was involved in several other incidents in the same area before the carjacking, so they do not that think the mayor was specifically targeted.
The suspect has not been located, but the car was recovered yesterday. There is no detailed description of the suspect.
The car jacking happened in the area of Tucson Boulevard and Fifth Street.
