The Trump administration’s new immigration-enforcement priorities are giving some observers a sense of déjà vu. And, they’re stepping into the way-back machine, traveling back to Arizona, circa 2010, when then-Gov. Jan Brewer signed SB 1070 into law.
Simon Rosenberg writes about this in an op-ed in U.S. News and World Report. It’s called “ Steve Bannon, Meet Russell Pearce.”
Rosenberg is president of the Washington, D.C., think tank NDN. He’s worked on immigration issues for more than a decade, and, among other things, worked on Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign.
