UA Medical School In Phoenix Moving Toward Accreditation

The University of Arizona’s College of Medicine in Phoenix is moving toward full accreditation. The Liaison Committee of Medical Education is visiting the school this week.

The Phoenix campus staff prepared for the review by practicing a “mock visit” in January.

In previous visits, the national accrediting authority praised the college’s curriculum and academic advising but found problems with the agreement between UA and Banner Health.

The group granted provisional accreditation last year, saying those issues had been resolved. A decision is expected in the next few months.
