FBI Takes Property From Pinal County Sheriff's Office

The FBI took an undisclosed number of items from the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office on Friday.

A spokesperson for Sheriff Mark Lamb did not say what was taken but confirmed the items were the property of the previous administration of Paul Babeu.

Public information officer Navideh Forghani said the FBI did not serve a search warrant.

“This was literally a conversation that took place where they just asked if we had anything," Forghani said. "We did have items that were connected to the last administration and then they asked if they could come and get them and we said, ‘OK, come on over.’”

The Sheriff’s Office says it is not in involved in the investigation in any way and referred questions to the FBI. The FBI declined to comment.
