Supporters of President Donald Trump rallied at the state Capitol on March 4, 2017.

"March 4 Trump" demonstrations were held around the United States on Saturday, including in Phoenix.

Supporters of President Donald Trump rallied at the state Capitol on Saturday as part of a national movement to back the commander-in-chief. Anti-Trump protesters showed up, too.

Chants of "build the wall" rained down on a handful of protesters who showed up at the pro-Trump rally. A few steps away, several hundred of the president’s supporters listened to a variety of speakers, including Arizona Treasurer Jeff DeWit. He said the idea to put America first is good for everyone, regardless of politics.

“I’d love to see the left come around and wise up and realize that the policies we’re supporting are great for everybody," said DeWit.

Those who oppose the president gathered a couple miles north at Encanto Park. About 50 people heard from a handful of progressive speakers and held a barbeque.

Courtnay Hough helped organize the event. She said there are competing visions of America.

"When they say America first, to us, it doesn’t come off as the America that we’ve been really working towards," said Hough.

In the end, the pro- and anti-Trump crowds did have one thing in common — they both care about the future of the country.
