State leaders have some areas in which they’d like to boost funding — education is chief among them.
But the question, as it often is, is where would the money to pay for that come from?
The Grand Canyon Institute has a suggestion: hire more tax collectors and auditors to bring in more of the tax money that’s owed.
Elliot Hibbs is the principal author of that report. He spent nearly 30 years in state government in Arizona, including as director of the Department of Revenue.
Hibbs is also on the board of the Grand Canyon Institute. The report is called “ Enhanced Revenue Enforcement Creates Fairness, Raises Millions in Revenue.”
