The Arizona Office of Tourism is going virtual: from the making of one of the virtual-reality films the office is using to bring more visitors to Arizona.

Tourism is among the bigger sectors of the state’s economy — especially this time of year. And the Arizona Office of Tourism is using a new approach to try to get more people to visit the state.

Through a pair of virtual-reality goggles, I jumped out of an airplane over the Grand Canyon. And, almost immediately, I wished I’d taken Dramamine before doing so.

State tourism officials have been using virtual reality to showcase the state, and some of the things visitors can do here.

To find out more about this, I visited Stephanie Dowling’s office. She’s the deputy director at the Arizona Office of Tourism.
