Heat Wave Pushing Highs Toward Mid-90s By Saturday

So long freezing temperatures. The National Weather Service expects the overnight lows across the lower valleys will no long drop below 60s for the rest of the season.

Meteorologist Chris Breckenridge with the Weather Service said this week’s daytime highs are also climbing.

“We’re just going to be parked under this big dome of pressure and continuing to warm," he said.

The high in Phoenix on Saturday is forecast to hit 95 degrees, even higher in Yuma.

Once that high dome of pressure collapses, he predicted normal highs in the mid-70s will return.
