Work is underway to salvage hundreds of trees in northeast Phoenix where a master-planned community will soon take root.
An on-site nursery will be created at Black Mountain Boulevard and Deer Valley Road, where approximately 500 native trees will be dug out, boxed and watered until they are replanted.
Taylor Morrison and Pulte Homes spent $100 million to buy 410 acres of former state trust land next to Desert Ridge. The project called “Sky Crossing” includes 1,200 single-family homes, an elementary school, pavilion and swimming pool. It will be built in phases with the first model homes expected to open next year.
A spokesman for Taylor Morrison said no photos are available for public use and an update from both companies is scheduled in the coming weeks.
