A Maricopa County justice of the peace faces possible removal from office.
JP Andrew Hettinger is facing two charges: One, for allegedly redirecting his political opponent’s internet traffic to his own web page, and the other for reportedly using campaign material that blurred the line on his status as a non-incumbent candidate.
If he’s found guilty, the judicial conduct commission could issue an informal reprimand or remove him from office.
Hettinger said in a response to the commission that he, "humbly acknowledges his mistakes."
He asked the commission to caution him with an advisory letter and dismiss the complaint against him.
EDITOR'S NOTE: This article has been modified to reflect that removal from office is one possible outcome based on the findings of the judicial conduct commission.
