Phoenix Historic Preservation Officer Discusses Future Of Grain-Storage Facility

The grain elevator has twelve tanks, which reach higher than 100 feet.

A piece of Phoenix history could be coming down. A local company is interested in buying the Allied Grain facility just west of Interstate 17.

It’s the first major grain storage facility in the Valley and includes several grain elevators.

The Phoenix Historic Preservation Commission met Monday to talk about what to do with the property.

Michelle Dodds is Phoenix’s Historic Preservation officer.
