Five states have some form of physician-assisted suicide, with California being the most recent adopter of the policy.
To learn more about end-of-life decisions, we spoke with Kelly Davis. She talked about a very personal experience — her sister Betsy’s decision to use the assisted-suicide law and to hold a sort of going-away party with friends on the last two days of her life.
We also heard from Jessica Zitter, a doctor who, among other things, specializes in non-traditional end-of-life decision-making. Her new book is called "Extreme Measures: Finding a Better Path to the End of Life."
