The University of Phoenix Stadium seats 63,400 people. And Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is estimating more than 70,000 are traveling through the airport for the NCAA tournament events.
Julie Rodriguez with the airport says they’ve seen an increase in traffic as people fly into Phoenix. But, they’re expecting a deluge after the championship game tonight
“We expect, on an average day, we have about 120,000 passengers coming through Sky Harbor. On Tuesday, April 4th, we’ll be about 50 percent higher than that. So, we’re staffed up and ready to go,” Rodriguez said.
The airport usually recommends travelers arrive to check into your flight two hours ahead of time. But, if you’re planning on traveling on Tuesday, Rodriguez recommends arriving three hours early.
