NCAA Championship Game Starts At End Of Evening Rush Hour

Transportation officials want drivers to avoid westbound Interstate 10 for their evening commute, as heavy traffic is expected ahead of tonight’s NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship Game.

Gonzaga and North Carolina tip off at 6:20 p.m., which means the lead-up to the big game will be during evening rush hour.

Drivers should expect delays on Loop 101 in Glendale. They should also expect heavy traffic on westbound Interstate 10, where there’s ongoing construction between roughly 43rd and 75th avenues.

Transportation officials have asked West Valley residents, and ticket holders, to consider taking Interstate 17 northbound to westbound Loop 101. People going to the game at University of Phoenix Stadium have been encouraged to arrive early.
