New Parking Requirements For Some Phoenix Restaurants, Bars

Certain restaurants and bars in Phoenix will have to pay more attention to parking. This week, council members approved a new requirement.

It’s the result of residents complainingtheir neighborhood was being overrun with customers from The Yard. The restaurant cluster on Seventh Street north of Missouri Avenue also features a courtyard with ping pong, foosball and other games.

When it opened four years ago, the city based parking requirements on the dining area and did not include recreational space. The new rule requires businesses with outdoor recreational spaces to provide one parking space per 200 square feet.
