Arizona Gov. Ducey To Get Update On Wildfire Season

Gov. Doug Ducey is scheduled to meet at the Capitol today with the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management.

They will discuss the impact of this winter’s record rain and snowfall and how it shapes this year’s wildfire season.

Record rain and snowfall contributed to early greenery, which could be a challenge as it dries out under triple digit temperatures.

However, Mary Zabinski with the Southwest Coordination Center, the regional hub for federal and local firefighters, said because our season begins before most other regions, we are generally well prepared for wildfire season.
