Trump's Infrastructure Bill Called A Washington Fantasy

Throughout his campaign, and in his first months in office, we’ve heard a lot of talk about a grand “infrastructure bill” — President Trump’s vision of rebuilding America’s roadways, pipes and dams. But just how realistic is this $1 trillion vision?

According to Adie Tomer, a fellow at the Brookings Institution Metropolitan Policy Program, this “infrastructure bill” is Washington fantasy.

In a recent article, he argues that there is, in fact, no such thing as an “infrastructure bill” in Washington, and there are some serious roadblocks in the way of passing anything like it to begin with.

He joined me from Washington to talk more about this.
