Group Aims To Reduce Political Dysfunction, Incivility

U.S. Sen. Flake’s meeting last night is not the first raucous town hall. They have been popping up across the country. Here’s U.S. Reps. Darrell Issa and Martha McSally battling at their own town halls

Dr. Carolyn J. Lukensmeyer is the executive director of the National Institute for Civil Discourse at the University of Arizona, an organization with an aim to reduce political dysfunction and incivility in our political system.

So, we wanted her to weigh in on Flake’s town hall to discuss whether last night was on par with the civility the Institute is striving for — or if that idea went out the window with Flake’s initial Code of Conduct rules.
