Would Arizona Be Ready If Hit With Public Health Emergency?

If a public health emergency hit Arizona, would we be ready?

That’s the question posed in the new National Health Security Preparedness Index released today by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

The index looks at 130 different preparedness measures on a state and national level to prevent and manage health emergencies.

And, for more on this, I’m joined by Glen Mays, who leads a research team at the University of Kentucky in managing the Index.

To create this index, you look at a wide range of factors, from flu vaccination rates to food inspection programs, so, first of all, what kinds of public health emergencies are we talking about here?
