ADOT Sign Contest: "Single in HOV lane? Get a real date, not a court date."

The moment has finally arrived, drivers will finally get to see who the two winners are for the Arizona Department of Transportation’s safety message sign contest.

ADOT first announced its unconventional sign contest in early February.

After whittling down the more than 7,000 submissions to just 20, the public voted for their favorites.

Doug Pacey with ADOT announced the winners.

"And the two winners are, 'That’s the Temperature, Not the Speed Limit,' And 'Single in HOV lane? Get a real date, not a court date.'"

Pacey said around 8,000 votes were cast.

The winning messages will be broadcast statewide through Monday.

As for our own Morning Edition producer who made the top 20 cut, well, she placed sixth.
