It’s commencement season, which means lots of college students will soon be looking to enter the workforce, and lots of students are going to have to start paying back their college loans.
According to a Consumer Federation of America look at U.S. Education Department data, the number of people who defaulted on their federal student loans went up 17 percent between 2015 and last year.
With me to talk about this is Joanna Darcus. She’s an attorney at the National Consumer Law Center, where she’s on its student loan team.
