What Are The Complexities Of Building Houses On Navajo Nation?

A team from The Arizona Republic decided to dig into the records to learn how $80 million provided to the Navajo Nation for housing was actually being used.

The funding was to be managed by the Navajo Housing Authority. Dennis Wagner was one of the reporters who looked into the complexities of building houses on the Navajo Nation.

We spoke with Wagner, and we learned about Native American housing challenges more generally from Nancy Pindus of the Urban Institute. She co-wrote the recent report "Housing Needs of American Indians and Alaska Natives in Tribal Areas."
