The University of Arizona’s medical school in downtown Phoenix is welcoming a new dean.
Dr. Guy Reed will begin his new post in July. He’s currently the chair of the University of Tennessee’s Department of Medicine.
Reed will be the third dean at the downtown medical school, which opened roughly a decade ago. He arrives about a year after former Dean Dr. Stuart Flynn left his post for a position at Texas Christian University’s new Health Science Center.
The downtown Phoenix school currently holds “provisional” accreditation from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. Word on full accreditation is expected in June.
