The Phoenix VA was ground zero for unusually long waiting lists for medical appointments, and cover-ups of the related delays that led to veterans not receiving proper, timely treatment.
On Tuesday, the federal U.S. Court of Appeals overturned the firing of Arizona’s former VA Director Sharon Helman.
The court sent the case back to the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board for review and “appropriate action.” Helman was fired from the VA in November 2014.
